2011 Harvest Blues Trail
Gráinne Duff – Monaghan
‘I Know We’re Gonna Be Just Fine’ is the brand new single taken from Gráinne’s forthcoming album which is currently in the final stages of production. This will be the follow-up to her stunning 2008 debut, ‘Out Of The Dark’. Since then Gráinne has become a regular at Jazz & Blues festivals throughout Europe including three nights at Glastonbury hosting the blues sessions on the Acoustic Stage alongside artists like Joan Baez, Suzanne Vega, Sinead O Connor and Seasick Steve.
She was the voice of BBC2’s own promotional video which was recorded in the famous Air Studios under the guidance of Sir George Martin. She was also a featured artist on RTE’s Other Voices.
She plays a mean electric blues guitar, and sings like a long lost relative of Bonnie Raitt, with classic numbers like ‘Rather Go Blind’ and ‘The Thrill has Gone’ in her repertoire. Other influences include Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix. “In a world of chick rockers, Duffy is the real deal. Label bosses get your cheque books out sharpish.” Classic Rock Magazine

Last year Roy Fulton played along side living blues legend Robert Cray and his new signature guitar was launched at the London Guitar Show 2011. Roy’s playing style has been compared to many blues greats and his main influences of Rory Gallagher, Roy Buchanan and Eric Clapton are very evident in his playing style. His newly released ‘Bootlegged Blues’ DVD, which captures his band in smoldering hot form, is receiving excellent reviews in several top guitar magazines.
What others say about Roy…
Your playing sounds great… David Grissom (Allman Brothers, Dixie Chicks) …very nice tone and playing! John Jorgenson (Elton John, Hellecasters)

The Norman Beaker – Manchester, England
Norman has been at the forefront of the British Blues scene for the last 3 decades and first came to the public’s attention in the late seventies whilst playing with legendary UK blues giants such as Alexis Korner, Graham Bond and Jack Bruce.
A self-taught guitarist, Norman, learnt to play the guitar at the tender age of seven whilst confined to bed after a serious accident. In 1964, whilst on holiday in Llandudno, Norman entered and won first prize in a holiday camp talent competition, winning an appearance on skiffle king, Lonnie Donegan’s Show. Norman’s early influences were people like Lonnie and Hank Marvin though everyone who heard him play said he sounded like a blues guitarist. Elder brother Malcolm was a keen blues fan and introduced Norman to the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson.
